    Default Fruity sounds

Ive been trawling the web and seen a lot of adjustable exhausts about on various cars and i think the idea is perfect!

i dont want to end up as a barry boy or annoy the neighbours when i start the car in the morning, just have the option of a little more fruity note when I'm giving it the beans.

Has anyone ventured yet? Butterfly valves, adjustable tail pipes, etc? they seem to be standard fit on most super-cars these days (no comments please) and there are a few companies out there that have an offering, jut haven't found one for Vauxhalls yet.

Walkinshaw do a switchable exhaust for the VXR8. I was going to get a cut out for my 2.8 before I sold it. I will be getting a cut out for my next car (If i ever get it)

Basically a switchable exhaust. It gives you the option of bypassing silencers etc.

sorry i must be being dense. i see the concept of having a different route for the exhaust gases but how is it switchable? is it controlled from the cockpit or does the valve open at a certain pressure/rpm?

Bit of a DP but just been on the walkinshaw website and seen the cost of the VXR8 exhaust system! Does that come with a pot of vas or are we talking dry run territory?

It can either be controlled in the cockpit, or you can manually put a blanking plate over it. You can get rev switchable ones on bikes and some high end cars (Ferrairs for example) but they cost a fortune. Have a look on ebay for QTP. There is a guy on here about to fit one on his 2.8

Cheers Ziggy, I've emailed the ebay guy (lots of Astra related adverts so its in the ball park) and found QTP in the USA who have a distributer in Edinburgh so theyve had an email too!

Who's this guy that was fitting one to his 2.8? Be very interested to chat as i have the same vehicle!
