damp smell scuttle clear?????????

hiya guys another damp query my scuttle is clear but when i wash car or it rains water goes allover the pollon filter and a damp smell blows into car .if scuttle is clear water shouldnt be a problem to filter so why is this happening ? any help appreciated

Is the pollen filter clear? I find old clogged pollen filters hold moisture and never really dry out.

yes mate its a new 1 .the white case thingy that the filter goes in between that and the car theres a sponge type gasket could it be getting in through there ? also theres no screws holding that on just 2 black clips is that right ????????thx

Yea it just has the 2 black clips, could be the smell is coming from the condensor from the a/c?

when i looked behind the pollon filter there was a few drips/splashes of water there ?could that be getting inside car

Is the carpet on the passenger side wet, the pollen filter housing is a **** poor design & the gasket on the back does deteriorate allowing water in.

Yes it is wet well more damp. I've lifted it up and luckily its not damp underneath. So maybe caught in time. So do you think the gasket thingy has gone. Also is there a part number for this? Thankyou

you have to buy the complete housing, gasket doesn't come seperate... not that expensive though aroun £25
