    confused Insurance alterations (Tesco)

if you ring and say you just got 3 points do they alter the price of your policy ther and then if you are 6 months into it ?

i ask this because does it work the other way -
when i took the policy out i had 2 convictions in the last 5 yr but now 6mths in my licence has been clean for 5 year and i also just turned 25.

i rang them up few days ago and spoke to a woman on the fone, explaind my licence is now clean could you alter my insurance to suit,
she sounded uninterested mabye because i was ringing late in the day but said my insurance was NOT based on my disqualifications and that ther would be no change until my policy ends in 6 months, she then went on 2 say feel free to shop around ! #biatch

the disqualifications played a huge part in the policy as a quote without them was around £1000 cheaper!!!!!

so my question is - can / shud they be able to alter my policy half way thru as they would if i where to change the vehicle for example ?

    regards

The quotation should have been based on your conviction taking the expiry date into consideration as you would have told them the dates of conviction..

you can end your policy at any time .... But there could be a admin/termination fee and spect it to affect an no claims bonus discount if you end a policy prior to itS expiry date

as always with car insurance quick to take your money .... Slow to assist or pay out

Car insurance companies really get my back up! Cost me 35 quid last month to change the reg to my private plate?! And I went from parking on the highway to on my drive, another £84 quid mid policy!

That really doesn't sound right - surely - there is less risk to parking on drive than on a road. I can see a small admin fee for the change in circs - but I can also see a reduction in risk that should also see a reduction in premium.

I'm afraid that the answer is 'NO' Stevo.
The insurance is for 1 year and based on your details at the start of the year.
The insurers wouldn't charge you more if you got points part-way through the year and you don't get a refund if the points come off either.
But if you've not got any more recent convictions your insurance will probably drop a bit next year.
Disqualification always bumps your premium up A LOT!
