    Default Difference between dealers!!!

I have had my insignia elite cdti 160 about 8 weeks now.
The vauxhall warranty runs out in March this year.
The heated seats have developed a sporadic fault where they switch off after 5 seconds.
It doesn't occur all the time.
I took it to local dealer who said they couldn't find any problem.
A mate works at another dealer so he took my car there and they have changed the heated pads in the seats and are going to fix a broken part of the drivers seat frame (must have been the first owner not my fat arse).
I wonder why one dealer says no problem and another fixs it?
Probably due to my mate working there.

One likes to keep a good reputation and relationship with their customers.... the other just cant be arsed.

I dont think ill get much of an arguement from that statement.

I don't know how dealerships work - but I would have thought it was something like this - your car develops a fault whilst under warranty - you take it to a dealership and they examine the car and confirm the problem - they contact Vauxhall who agree for the work to be done and pay the dealership to repair it and for the parts needed - the dealer does the work and gets paid for the job. Am I missing something or is there an obvious reason the dealer would not want to do the repair, which is work for their workshop and goodwill in respect of the customer.

    Hi mate,

This is a known fault on the Insignia.
Take the below information into a dealer and demand they fix it for you!

Note: Only vehicles with leather or partial leather seats are affected.
Customer complains that driver seat heater stops after a few seconds. Trouble codes B2425/0D and B2430/0D may be set.

This is caused by insufficient routing of the seat heater wire from the seat cushion to the flange (design fault).

Improved seat heating mats with a new design have been introduced in production as of VIN W0LGT5EM5A1052930 (6th January 2010).

In case of customer complaint replace the seat heating mat with the improved version.

I shall keep this handy - my MY12 Insignia started doing this in December but it's a bit sporadic...
