    Default Rear electric window help

Ive just sourced a 2004 design edition hatchback thats complete and has the electric window set up in the rear doors.

i know i would need to take the looms from the rear doors, rear door switches and window motors.

    a few questions tho............

    1 - will these fit my 2008?
2 - is there any way i can check if my car has the electrics for the set up in the pillar?
3 - does it need to be tech 2'd?
4 - is there anything else i'd need from the donor car?

or is it not work the hassle doing this mod?

    cheers guys

    rab...............

Yes they will fit and you will need the drivers door switch as well but you won't have the body wiring in your car it will need to be added which can be done but it takes a few hours to do. You could double check by removing the plug between the rear door and the car to see if you have 2 large pins at the top side by side on the part going into the car but being a 2008 it is not likely and yes a tech 2 session to enable them is required also grab a couple of plastic covers from the side of the centre consol as they fit over the window winder hole in your door card.

A couple of wires from the rec for the power feeds and 5 wires or so between the doors and the x plugs in the front footwells for the switch controls and illumination. .

Not correctly wired up, It can be tech 2'd, I borrowed a tech 2 for 5 minutes and programmed my car when I did a rear electric window conversion.

One will have the wiring, one won't.
check the other ends of the plugs to see if you have the wiring
