Default 1.6CDTI in the Insignia, goodbye 2.0CDTI 130?

As title suggests, seems Vauxhall will be binning the 2.0 CDTI 130 and replacing it with a 1.6CDTI with 134bhp.

About time too - years behind the competition. Same goes for 3-cylinder petrol turbo expected next year debuting in the Adam.

The 1.6-litre CDTI Ecotec unit will replace all of the existing 1.7s in the coming months and years, with some lower-power 2.0-litre diesel also being replaced by the new arrival.

You quoted it. It's replacing the low powered 2.0CDTI. Probably in time for the facelift.

Sounds like a plan. No loss of power/torque, lower emissions less road-tax better fuel economy.

Yep, I expect it will replace both the 130PS A20DT, and the (Opel-only) 110PS A20DTL 2-litre Insignia diesel engines.

Alson on anther note it is replacing the 1.7CDTI first and by my wreckoning the Corsa is due a change altogether as the Corsa D came out in October 2006.
