Driving licence

Hi all ive just noticed on my driving licence on the front it says

4a 25-05-06 4b. 10-06-13 4c. DVLA

Does this mean my license runs out this year and i have to renew it as i thought you renewed it every 10 years :S

Yes it does mate post office charges 25quid i think mate

Damn why doesn't mine last for 10 years where every one else's ive looked at lasts for 10 year

Edit: what if i took it direct to the DVLA as there's one in dundee.

Think you have to send it to DVLA bud--unless they have changed the rule's again.I can remember having to post mine off to them--both parts of the licence-Can't understand the 5 year rule thing--unless thats because your scottish!!! lol---Hope you sort it----Dave

If you have a recent/new style passport you can do it all online without getting new photos done.

Did you change your address or have points added in 2006 by any chance? Both of these would mean you'd get a new license but with the picture you already had. 2013 is when your picture will need renewed

Thats what i dont under stand Dave my mums is 10 year my sisters is 10 year brother in-law is 10 but mine is only 7 years :S

Just pulled the paper out and on that its says

GB ¦ 06 10 94 ¦ 05 10 47 ¦

This is also on the back of the plastic licence so does that mean mine runs out on 05/10/2047.
