    Default rain sensor troubles

Whilest waiting on the glue to dry on my bracket I thought to try out the auto lights, but they dont seem to be working properly, ive changed the variant coding on the REC and under bonnet module but the lighys are coming on strait away rather than after the engine started and ive shone a bright torch onto it and still the lights are not behaving, thats with the light swtich set to auto, I must have missed something anyone have any ideas??

    Cheers :-)

You need to program it in the BCM, the sensor also needs a good 'seal' to the screen.

I tried it by holding the sensor away from the screen and the lights where on during a nice sunny day, I then fitted the sensor to the screen and the lights went off.. Yeah BCM needs programming and certain software can't access it, I had the same problem!

On this subject can anyone give any tips for making the light sensor more sensitive - for the headlights come on before it's practically dark would be nice - without reducing the sensitivity of the rain sensor? Thanks.

How you would make it look good im not sure, but a piece of tinting film might do the trick (might need to try different tint grades). The idea being, window tints will block a certain amount of incoming light (correct me if im wrong, i've never actually tinted my windows), therefore as it gets darker, the amount of light the sensor picks up will reduce at the same rate as it does now, but because the tint will retard that constantly, it should hit the "lights on" threshold sooner.

Rain sensors work on infrared light IIRC, so i dont think the tint would effect that operation.

Of course making it look good may be an issue...
