    Default wheel hub

    need to buy a new n/s front hub , what is the part number for 2004 1.8 ?
    also ebay ones ?? which is reliable and cheap

    Don't buy the cheap ones off e bay mate, do a search I've posted my thoughts on bearings, buy genuine! I had to do the job twice through a one that lasted all of seven weeks!

    did you buy one without a gaurantee ? some have 12 months atleast ?

    I bought what I thought was better than a £55 one off eBay ,I got a Lucas one from ecp. And yes they do have a guarantee and I took mine back . Just trying to save you doing the job twice bud.

    There is a part numbers request forum by the way

    Given the info you provided i'd say you have the older hub which is replaced with P/N 93186387 (this goes up to chassis number 48999999, they were changed after that 93186388)

    Edit: Although i don't think you would, but since im no expert, if you have IDS (you have a sport switch that does something), then theres a different P/N!

    cheers DJ , I got the p/n mins after I posted .
    its one without ids i'm after .
    its only to clear an ABS fault the bearing itself is fine .

    Yep ive got to go out saturday and check my abs wiring, but i have a feeling i'll be buying a new hub too, just my luck the sensor will be fudged and not just a bare wire. but i live in vague hope of an easy fix saturday

    ha , this is my last resort on it , checked all the wire an connections but with a meter it looks like the hub sensor thats gone

    if you dont mind me asking, how did you test it with a meter. I read (on here i think) that the vectra abs sensors can't be resistance tested like most and you have to do a voltage check to be certain using flying leads (which i don't have incidentally, and i have no idea what they are specifically and where to get them).

    Of course mines a newer '08 1.9 cdti 120, so there's of course a very good change the sensors are different to yours
