    Talking parcel shelf construction

    whats the construction of the parcel shelf, does it have the metel reinforcing strap through it?. as i will be adding some 6X9s at the weekend all ready replaced the door speakers with pioneer ts-q172 direct replacment speakers

    IMHO I'd leave the 6x9's the the box, if the uprated speakers you've already fitted aren't good enough then I'd recommend fitting better front speakers and amplify them

    i havent got the headunit in to test the new door speakers yet i have two sets of 6x9s i was gonna try and put them to use

    Your ears are designed to hear from in front of you.
    6x9's aren't a good choice of speaker they try to do too much.
    In an ideal setup you want a good set of component speakers (mid-bass, separate crossover and tweeter) run from an external amplifier in a well sealed sound deadened door and a separate amplified subwoofer in a box (ported of sealed is down to personal choice)

    hi mate just put some in mine and yes they do have metal thro them but cut easily enough with jigsaw stay away from the two strips ya see underneath tho

    Is there much of a sound improvement by upgrading to TS-Q172 speakers. I'm looking to swap them front and back.

    yes they sound well with my pioneer headunit plus you get a set of tweeters to go in the rear doors
