    Default Cim replacement

    Hi,
Just searched quickly and found nothing but could be doing it wrong, so sorry if so, it's a fairly common complaint.
i need to replace the CIM in my friends 53 vectra 2.0 dti, the module is a delphi and has codes 4536 9008, 0301221416, 13132475(found this code CIM on eBay £50) which codes need to match? Ident code is GL, does this need to match?
Cant find a how-to guide on net and am really surprised! Am I right that I physically replace unit but keeping original ignition barrel then phone out a decent vauxhall independent to programme keys in via tech2?
    any advice would be great
also any tech2 recommendations around northallerton, north yorks would be great( ball park figure£££??)
    thanks in advance

This has same codes, doesn't mention being tech2 cleared, is that a problem?

If it's not Tech2 cleared, you'll need the security code from the donor vehicle I believe?

Thanks for advice above, I've bought the one above but that is tech2 cleared.
again ANY advice would be ace, I've been told there is a knack to getting steering angle right, can I just replace the same way as I found it?? Changing locks an issue?

Take it somewhere that they know what they doing , as incorrect fitting can lead to snap airbag ribbon cable also u do need tech2 to program it and to program ur keys, if u thinking of fitting that urself then get it tech2 is a no no too as u wound start the car

It's not just the keys that need programming the whole car does as the CIM is the gateway for all modules.

Got one fitted now but thanks humourbash.
How would I snap airbag ribbon? I've fitted one now so fingers crossed I ain't done that! I've been careful.
cant take it to garage as car not worth enough, stealers would write it off. I'm not risking much at £50 so here goes..... I'm fairly handy, but will get a prof to do tech2. Will do major ring round tomorrow morning.
is there a set up for steering angle? I haven't moved car and have put new one in the same as old one came out.
