    Default autobox problem?

Not sure if I have a problem with my auto box or not really. Car is a 08 vectra cdti sri 150 auto with 87k miles.

I've had the car remapped by mas performance with egr and dpf deletion.

Today I experienced some strange behaviour. While the car was still cold, only been running 2 minutes, I had to pullout into a small gap in the traffic on the duall carriageway. I put my foot to the floor and after the usual 2 second delay the car pulled away. However, it seemed to get stuck in either first or second gear with the revs climbing but not much else happening. I had to completely back off the throttle. Then pull away again gently.

I have also noticed on a few occassions previously that the box seems to hold the lower gears slightly longer than I think it should. This happened before the remap and also with the car cold and when warmed up.

So, was today's problem just down to the car being freezing cold and the gearbox oil being too cold or something more sinister?

I'm wondering if the auto box needs a fluid change or the level is slightly low.

Any help appreciated as usual guys.

    Chris

Dont normally do it, but the dual carriageway is a busy one and you dont get many opportunities to pull out. After the incident, it drove fine for tge rest of thr journey.

    Default

Auto boxes tend to hold gears longer when cold, it helps them get upto temp. quicker, but it shouldnt last for more than a few minutes. Im guessing in your case it got confused (they are a bit dim witted at times), it maybe due to the remap, the autobox does have some learning paramiters, so its possible to confuse them if going from a steady drive to a 'sporty' drive in an instant. Tiptronic mode overrides this i found.
