Got free alloys from mate who got sri alloys so decided to take it and use it finally to get rid of steels with alloy wheel look a like trim, also it's not straight/true, as it makes steering wheel vibrate as in fast wobble. Friends/forum reckons warped brake disc or wheels need balancing. Even tyre garage said so too. But i didnt believe it would be them!
Anyways, cleaned and checked them alloys is undamaged (apart from slight kerbings on 2) its straight and true!!
Tyres was near limit and i got them 8 month old tyres on mine. Removed tyres at home, so set off to tyre spot normally £13 per wheel, i got it for ten per wheel to remove tyre and fit to alloys
The guy found 2 near limit at end of tyre. 7mm 7mm 7mm but at end wearing out faster as if its used that area 95% of time.
Guys said tracking is off.
Went to boss and said, you done tracking 3 times, new tyres with you, still not happy i have to replace 2!
Boss offered free tracking!
Good job it's 1mm away from balding and is safe to use after tracking properly,
I think when they do tracking. You ask to take it for a drive. Then return to let them know if its spot on. But when you return, tell them you feel it is slightly off just so they check again, this way you can be sure it have been done right cos as you leave the garage, driving is completely different to standstill!
Off i go to find same mm threads to replace them tyres for peace of mind!
Not happy at all really!!!
