    Default Illuminated sunvisors mod

    Went to modify a set of sunvisors today and change bulbs to LEDs and was confronted with an led lol, can anyone tell me how to remove the mirror housing from the visor please

    You can use a flat screwdriver...gently put it on the edges of the mirror casing and lift all the way around. Done it few weeks ago and sunvisors already sold ;-)

    It's 36mm festoon LED bulbs

    In what way are they different may I ask? Thinking of doing this myself.

    Cheers for the pics & the link @Bigestly , just been out to the car to remove mine to double check, I'd tried before a while ago without success but didn't realise it was that simple. I've ordered some 5050 leds, finally a bulb in there that gives off some light.

    It's great that you sorted it out mate. Looks good and gives much more light than usual bulbs :-)

    They are different because if you look at the bulb in my visor picture it's a single LED poking its head out, the other pictures in this thread show the festoon type. No idea why mine were different....
