    Default SRI 1.8 vvti traction control

    Hi i recently found in the bad weather we had today ,that my wheels are just spinning whilst driving in snow, do these not have traction control,
    its a 2006 vectra sri 1.8 vvti,i used to have a 53 plate 2.0 dti and that had traction control

    does anyone know please ...

    its really bad in snow , first time ive driven this car in the snow, i thought it must not be working , since my old 53 plate had it

    How good are your tyres? You may actually need to put on winter tyres.

    I must admit that the Traction Control and the ABS were brilliant in the snow and ice this morning on my 1.9cdti (120) - tyres are about half worn but no real problems.

    From what I read here, as a rule of thumb the more recent your Vauxhall the less kit it will have. As the Vectra moved through it's production history fewer toys were seemingly put into it to save Vx money.

    my tyres are 5mm on front and 4mm on rears, and yea gubmint agent i did find that my old vectra (prefacelift) have more gadgets ,just the little things and it was only a (LS) 2.0 dti, i would expect as top model sri would have more gadgets

    The engines below 2.0 have never had Traction Control, hence why the 1.9 CDTI does not but the 2.0DTi does

    Ironically, Traction Control makes no difference at speed in snow, ABS does
