Eek Anybody in Birmingham have a Tech 2 device?

    All,
I have a CDC40 Opera which from reading these forums tells me I can "activate the subwoofer feature via a Tech2 device" as the wiring diagram on top of the unit shows the Sub+ & Sub- connections.

Does anybody in or near Birmingham have such a device and the knowledge on how to do it?

    Or has anybody done it?

I have been to a few local garages who look at me lost...

    Cheers.

I fitted a CDC40 a while back which resulted in lots of research before making a purchase, I did not come across any info suggesting there is a sub woofer feature which can be activated via tech 2...

quick google suggests that there is some sort of "subwoofer out" thing that can be activated on standard headunits. however tech2 won't do it supposedly, you have to use "some other" software.

The CDC40 is my standard head unit, and a subwoofer was an optional extra which this car doesnt have. I have seen threads where people have used this to add an aftermarket amp/sub, in the sound settings menu a subwoofer volume setting occurs once activated via tech2. I know it must be possible as the wiring diagram on top of the headunit has the Sub+ and Sub- pins, and in the stereo connection block these pins are not filled (obviously as I have a non subwoofer harness.)

I am confident I can do the wiring its just I do not have access to a Tech2 device and with somebody who is competent with it.

Any idea on what "other software" I could use. I think I know where this is heading, as I work for Jaguar Landrover and on our vehicles things like this are setup using our own personalised Teradyne VCATS download system, which is bespoke to us. I have the feeling Vauxhall may have their own, making it near to impossible for me to now source is, especially as mine is 06Model Year.

If you look on the Omega Owners Forum website, there are a couple of guys who have Tech 2, but not 100% of their location. Maybe worth a shot if your still looking for a Tech 2 guy
