    Default Car is sick :(

    Hi everyone,

    Car not very well.
Coming home on the motorway last night, reaching the last motorway junction for home, i can hear this electronical screaming/interference noise, so i turned my stereo off to see if is still there and it was, then i noticed the voltage display i have installed was displaying 10.X volts and i was watching it drop then 9.X volts, i was thinking s**t i hope i make it home. Later i entered the slip road for my junction, reached to the top of slip road, bulb warning came on display, dipped lights started to flicker, i turned the dipped lights off and back on again its still the same. Almost home at the end of the dual cariageway near home the ABS light came on then off, then the power steering light came on then off, i continued to drive home as i'm 1min away from home, the dipped headlights flickered again, then at the end of my road, the dashboard lighting went out and back on again (longer than flicker), ok now im parking up my car on to my driveway the power steering is gone, and i could hear my car dieing on my driveway, dashboard lighting came on and off again. Now i parked up, switched engine off i could still hear the electronic screaming noise/interference noise, got out the car, locked car up noise was still there and went off after about 5 secs. The noise isn't loud but noticable.

What could this be, alternator maybe? Battery was replaced two years ago with high capacity one.

    Thanks.

I would say alternator personally. Im sure someone on here had the exact same symptons not long ago. Check carparts connextion for a new alternator.

But then again I may be wrong

I believe the electronic screaming noise could be my audio capacitor in the boot. That always make a noise if i disconnect it from the battery as it loses voltage.

Sounds like alternator bud as the battery should only be actively used during starting.

Yeah, its at the garage now, definitely the alternator that's gone. There was no pre-warning, no battery symbol on dash.
