Im getting into doing some walking and I'm doing the three peaks yorkshire challenge for a cause close to our family. Any advice would be great on how to prepare. It will be in late April so all my kits ready for any weather up there.

A list of en route pubs always comes in handy buddy
only way is to practice , lotsa walking and some hill climbs , come to Scotland do some Munros , perfect training
A GPS with some kind of tracker could be useful. I have a friend who's dad went hiking in Spain earlier this year and hasn't been seen since. It's though that he fell from a mountain path but the undergrowth in the ridges is so thick that without any form of tracker they're unlikely to ever find his body.
I also have another friend who's currently hiking the length of New Zealand (I think he's about 1/2 way down the South Island now) and from his Facebook updates I can imagine his top tip would be to pack spare boots!!
jeezo bigdave , any other positive to add ??
what is this hicking?
No1 most important thing, good boots. Good luck!
It was ment to be hiking but phone put hicking. Got loads of good kit already to go so start doing some training asap. My mates well into it and done it before a few times so hopefully things should be ok.
