Default 120 cdti cold start cranking

MY07 Vectra CDTi 120 is taking a good 5-10 seconds before it fire on first cold start only, bar first start in the mornings its perfect.

It seems to have developed this fault since I changed the fuel filter housing and thermostat housing?
I've since been back Vauxhall and they've swapped the fully built up housing for another to try and cure this issue.
But it doesn't seem much better.
This morning with is being frosty it has been even worse to start.

Reading through other threads someone has mentioned it could be the temp sensor? ( Pressuming the one in my new thermostat housing??? )

    Need help guys.
Since buying the car its been pampered by me, since October 2012 I've treated it mechanically to 3 oil changes, k&n panel filter plus mod, cambelt, tensioners, aux belt, water pump.
Glow plugs, pipework to boost solenoid, boost sensor clean up.
Fuel filter housing, thermostat housing, tunning box.
Now its kicking me in the teeth, I've done all the above for reliability.

Mine is exactly the same, and I'm not sure what to do. What oil have you got in it? Might do the leak off pipes as its a quick and cheap job.

Can't remember what oil I run, its whatever CES give me, currently using drive tech/ master??? ( Its made by mobil 1, just with a different label on ). Im not keen on engine flushes, and since the last owner hasn't really bothered with owt on this car, my pet hate is dirty black oil, theres no need for what it costs in parts, it protects the engine. So I've been dropping it every 2 months to get it cleaner in there.
I start to go to a 4-6 month oil change after the next one.

I have thought about leak off pipes.
But when it does start it starts cleanly, no juddering or missfire like syptoms.
I think its a fuel problem myself. But its getting me down now.

Searching through more threads I've come across a post about faulty temp sensors causing poor starting from cold.

Although I've just fitted and new thermostat housing with new sensor from Vauxhall, I suppose there is the odd chance of a bad'en???
It's saying to disconnect sensor and try starting it. If it starts better then I know the sensor or wiring could be at fault.
I'm not using the car tomorrow, but the misses is.
If I disconnect the sensor tonight, and let her use it tomorrow with it disconnected there won't be any running issues will there?
I can cope with a drop in mpg and elm on for a day while I trial this.

Well its parked up for this evening, removed plug from water temp sensor. Fans are on constant when running but its not a issue for a quick cold start test before I bike to work in the morning.
Fingers crossed it fires straight away and I can try another temp seonsor.
Its starting to snow here too.

Any other ideas if this don't sort it? im hoping its this sensor. Im getting sick of the fault finding.

It seems common on the CDTi 120 for cold starting issues. Mine takes anything from 1 to 6 seconds to start from cold. Fine any other time and drives like new

Its battered my head, it was fine with the non-working temp gauge, and un serviced lol.
Start to get on top of the jobs and it kicks you in the teeth.
    I'll get there with it.
