    Default Locking nut key

Bad day goes to worse - Not only was i unsuccessful in changing my rear pads,I have misplaced the key.I think I left it on the wheel. Can't believe I did,but no idea where it is.How much are replacements, any ideas ? They are vauxhall lock nuts.

If you have the bit of card with the number on that should be in the box then go to VX and order a new one..... Otherwise they need drilling out unless someone knows a better way.....

the key is about twenty quid iirc.. and yes, you'll need the code number when you order as there is quite a selection...

either that or it's out with the ripper sockets....

Note to self - in the future, stay in bed

I've got the code, but I imagined that if the set was £30,the "key" would probably be £25 on its own.

So annoyed.£25 (ish) for a key,£8 for the wrong part and £15 for someone to do it.Would have been as well letting Vx do it months ago.

OK.... this happened to me on Tuesday THIS WEEK....

Down at 888, taking a wheel off and the locking nut shredded.....

Went down to the local dealer who have a MASTER KEY !!

Purchased a new kit £25 inc VAT, they carefully took all the old locking bolts off and replaced them with the new ones...

No hammering, or violent removal.. All piece and harmony.... to the delight of 888....

It was suggested that I persue a warrantee claim on the security bolt..

I had mine removed at a local tyre dealer, it was scarey how easy they removed them. Another note, the number in my box wasn`t the number of the locking nut !!

My mind works overtime though. If I left it on the wheel, I imagine it would have came off quite soon after setting off in my car. This was a 3-point turn in my street then round a corner.I'm drenched already just looking and have had no luck.If somone has found it AND knows what it is my wheels could be "goners".So even getting a replacement key isn't so great "in my head"

Back out in the rain in 10 minutes with a torch !!!
