    Default servicing intervals

im just trying to make sense of the intervals, my vectra is on the flexi service one and it got serviced on the 6/06 with 24721 miles after it was telling me i need a service. now i just went out and pressed the trip button and its telling me 21,000 till the next one is due. my total mileage is 30,000 do i not need to take any notice of the 20,000 or 2 year interval and just go by the reading on the dash

So basically you've done 6,000 miles since the service but it's still showing 21,000 on the dash when you press the button?

Sounds like something hasn't been reset correctly, or a glitch of some sort as 21,000 is what it starts from when it's reset on ECOFlex.

Just thought, yours is a diesel so it's a 30,000 schedule so maybe it's coincidence that it's on 21,000?

I'd take it back to the dealer if I was you just to have them confirm it's been done properly.

if it's on the flexi, just wait till the light comes on on the dash...

but if like me, you think the intervals are too far apart, you can always do an interim and then re-set the indicator again..

Wouldn't you do an interim (oil/filter change) but not reset the indicator? That's what I do so that it has the service done at the interval it's meant to (with any other required parts) - but it's had the additional oil/filter change.

working it out i think its probably right because its every 30k but got done at24k instead obviously the 30k is not strict because it depends on how its been driven before me and i believe it was a company car so probably had a heavy foot! so 21k until my next one my milage will be 51k which is not far off the maximum 60k if you get what i mean!
or should i just reset it now as it is on 30k and so techniaclly it should show the next one in 30k time at 60,000 miles

    Now I'm confused! lol

Don't go by total mileage, only by mileage since your last service and reset. If the service indicator was reset at your last service, you have a maximum 0f 30,000 miles/2 years between services. That's the important thing - that's a maximum and you'll rarely get the full 30,000 unless you drive like Miss Daisy.

If you've done 5,200 odd miles since your service and it's showing 21,000 on the mileage left indicator then that is implying that your driving style is going to mean you'll need a service before the 30,000.

As long as the counter is indeed counting down, and not stuck on 21,000, then you'll be fine.

I personally think 20,000/2 years is a long time to have the same oil in, let alone 30,000 miles, so I'd be doing an interim oil/filter change if it was mine - but that's my personal preference.

If you stick to what the service indicator is telling you then at least you're sticking to the Vx guidelines for your car.
