    Default Warning bulbs

    Hi Guys,

    Just got a Signum 2.0T, 53 plate.

Noticed that the warning light for having a bulb out is constantly on even though i pressed ok.

Checked the bulb and it looks ok and cleaned the socket it goes into.

Anyone know how to get rid of this fault?

    Cheers

ps it is the rear right brake bulb!

i had that on a headlight bulb, every now and again the warning would flash up, even though the bulb appeared to still be working fine, changed it anyway just to be sure and the message hasnt come back on since. if i was you i would change the bulb its saying is out anyway, see if its the same as me

Is it like the Vectra, in that if the normal tail/brake light fails, then the 2nd tail light takes over the role of tail/brake light?

i.e. have you got 2 tail lights either side of the Signum, and is one of them blown? On first impressions your brake lights look normal, but upon closer inspection the offside brake light isn't at the same level as the nearside one.

Agree with Big Dave, the Signum swaps out the faulty bulb and uses another bulb for the brake light function.
Replace both tail light/brake light bulbs while you have the lamp holder out. I tended to replace any that were going black as well.
On one occasion I ended up replacing 10 bulbs. All four orange indicator bulbs (following an MOT advisory "too white" - the orange varnish was flaking off) and all four tail light/brake light bulbs because they were going black - one was very dark! Later that day a headlight bulb went so I had to take the headlight out ---- again! I replaced the dip on the other side as well as the bulbs came as a pair on special offer from Halfords.
