Well, I thought so, anyway.

very brave men.good video that
R.N.L.I. should be funded like Fire , Police and Ambulances .
I will never understand how they can all be unpaid for what they do, yet MP's want to give themselves a 32% wage rise.
unsung heros imo........a total discrace they put there lives on the line, and don"t recieve a single penny for doing so..........
totally agree, RNLI should be fully funded, with full-time staff.
Amazing footage of a service provided by a select few, massively respected and in need of a massive cash injection from the Government.
put this in line with my earlier post in another thread about football,
These brave members of society dont get paid for what they do and footballers get insane amounts for doing nothing. something wrong somewhere
Coming from a what is very much a lifeboat community.. I can see the arguement that the RNLI should be paid.... However, you will not find a more proud community than those who have a lifeboat crew, and when it comes to RNLI lifeboat days, open days etc they are always heaving. Its the fact that these folks are volunteers which makes the public so very generous. They volunteer for many reasons, some are family traditions, some because of the love of the sea, others just to be that little more involved with the community. You ask any of these people if they would take a wage for what they do and they will probably say no.
There are actually some full time members. More so when the boat is of the larger type and require a mechanic to tend to the boat on a day to day basis. They get housed and paid, but its not by any means a popstars wages.
Perhaps its the fact they are volunteers which makes them so highly regarded and much respected in the communities?
Its the only charity that i will always donate to if i walk past a collection box or someone collecting in the streets. And, if i have any money left before i kick the bucket, some of it will go to the RNLI.
