Fitted new front pads on the GSi this evening.
Went for a run up the road, now the NS Xenon is pointing to the floor about 6ft in front of the car. Have i disturbed something?

Original xenons is always auto leveling due to regulations/laws.
On my Vectra, it's a small sensor fitted from the chassis and a sensor-stick out on the suspension arms. These are mounted on either the driver or passenger side - not both, and their assignment is to check the load on the front and back of the car and then adjust the headlights up and down to prevent dazzle/glare to other traffic.

My best bet is one of these sensors or the cables to them.

Yes the sensor is on the NSF wishbone. Might try disconnecting it and see if it resets.

Used to be a common one on Omegas as has been mentioned. If the front had been jacked up for whatever reason, the level sensor either went out of range or the little arm popped off. Typically, this threw up an 'Out of Range' or similar warning or you just got one or both lamps in the 'failsafe' position looking a few feet in front of the car.
If the arm was off, just popping it back on fixed it, if it had gone out of range then it normally reset once switched off and back on, but occasionally required the fault clearing or a 'battery off reset'.
