I have been having a bit of bad luck with cars raining in the misses vec b was leaking in also turned out the wiper spindle on the boot was leaking in and filling the boot and also the sealant over the weld at the n/s top when the boot is open had a tiny hole in it as well took me ages to find it had the back of the car stripped out and kept the hose pipe flowing over the car

    hope that helps

On my Wife's Cavalier, that was getting wet in the boot, found that the water was getting in around the grommet / boot where the harness is routed at the top. It was then running down underside of rear wing.
Even though the grommet was sat into metal, it was leaking past it. Seemed to cure it with black flexible sealer.

Might not be that, but worth a look.
