    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : Sri

    Engine : 2.0 turbo

    Year : 2005

Default Some kind of rattle coming from drive train

Now im not sure how to describe my problem but it started out as a rattle on idle and when depressing the clutch pedal it went away so natural assumption release bearing, however the past 6 months things progressed to a whine noticeable in 2nd and 3rd mainly at 30 mph.
The main problem im having is 1st to 2nd i can here a rattle as i change gear coming from the gear surround area, also i get a thud if i release the pedal to quick.

Am i correct in thinking that this could be the release bearing or should i check engine and gearbox mounts, it is not affecting drivability or the way car performs it's more of an annoying problem that i dont want to get worse.

Come to think of it but i know i need inner and outer tie rods changing has i have excess play in steering and very vague steering at motorway speed.

Any info greatly appreciated many thanks.

souinds like dmf... does it judder a little coasting down gears.

Shop around, you will get a better price from a clutch specialist... i paid £550 all for the clutch, dmf, slave & fluid change a couple of years ago.

It doesn't really judder the only noticeable thing I get is when down changing from 4th to 3rd the gearstick moves and vibrates
