Default Broken my DT UK box.. ******!

Driving along, noticed a lot of smoke when booting it.. spanner light.. followed by engine cutting out... my first thought is 'Oh bother, my cambelt has snapped' (Choice words).

Open the bonnet & whip the engine cover off, straight away notice the tuning box has come unplugged from the common rail.. thank god!

Push it back on, car starts fine. I clear the **** out of my boxers and carry on.

I've just checked it & the bit that actually holds the connector onto the common rail has snapped, so it can just slide on & off.

I've taped it on & its come off again once already due to the heat, the tape just melts.

Is there any way to fix it? If I got a connector from the standard vectra loom & soldered it onto the wiring harness for the DT UK box, would this do the job?

    Cheers!

Andrew will sort you out with a new cable but they wont be cheap.

Have you tried cable ties? You should be able to efect a good seal using two or three of them.
