    Default 1.8 Waterpump

    Well people, I finally got the waterpump and pulleys changed on the Vec - thats the good news!!

    The attached picture is what my mechanic found after 3 hours of struggling trying to get it out - he said he has never known a Vauxhall waterpump to put up a fight!!!

    Thats an understatement Ant!! At least the Vec is back on the road with a new pump, pulleys and belts.

    Yes mate, basically gave up on life!! was still getting heat into the car and stat working ok so hoping I haven't damaged the head.

    mate ive never seen one that bad before

    i changed my waterpump on my 1.8 at 62000 miles it was starting to leak

    is the cambelt still ok ?

    what mileage has you car done ?

    Looks like he has used a lump hammer and a crowbar to remove it.
