    Question OSF driveshaft removal?

I am trying to replace my OSF driveshaft (complete with ineer and outer CVs). I have it out of the hub etc but cannot get it out from where it joins the inner shaft which goes into the gearbox..

Obviously the shaft on this side is a two piece job but how do i separate them..? Do I remove both parts right up to the gearbox?

No mate the inner cv pops out of the intermediate shaft in the same way it pops out of the diff on the passenger side. You won't loose any oil either

Its out, I just moved the end of the shaft to a position in front of the wishbone instead of behind it. A whack with my hammer and it came straight out.. I tried everything when it was in he other position..

So new driveshaft is now fitted.. just a shame the bearing won't come out of the hub.. Its Hammer time lol

just to clear up the some confusion here.. What i mean to say was hub would not come out the assembly/housing that its bolted into, I was referring to the bearing when i was meaning whole hub/bearing. You cannot separate the bearing from the hub to change them as far as i could see like you used to on older motors..

No, unfortunately it's a matter of replacing the whole hub assy and since it comes with the ABS sensor, the cost can be hefty.

Very nice. I've actually just ordered a couple of complete drive shafts from J&R, super cheap compared to what dealers here want. Called up initially to get a quote for inner/outer CV's separately and they said around AU$500-600 EACH exGST! And a complete drive shaft - AU$1200 exGST. ****** crazy.

J&R from eBay - AU$284 for TWO complete drive shafts, shipped!

I think I need to replace my left hub as a local workshop overtightened a wheel bolt after an alignment and the bolt broke when I tried to take the wheel off one day, ruined the thread.
