Hi there ,, have you ever bought something you wished you hadn,t,, bought a lovely cdti 150 sri, 05 , 2 month gone and replaced timing belt,w/pump, tensioners,, {230} 2 weeks later,, inlet manifold, 490,, now its an alternator,,, dont know how much this time,, anyone thinking of buying one ,, DONT,, AS THEY ARE CACK,, NEVER ENDING POCKET.

We do warn of the 1.9 issues. And yes a expolice omega pig of a car and the 4 cars i have had sense selling and rebuying the current car back.

should ask about last timing belt change before you bought it and also other items are normal to be replaced on a veccy. i'm still on my 2nd inlet manifold at 250k, 3rd alternator and 4th timing belt kit

At least you know they been done so now should last you a good 100,000 miles or more if u're kind and gentle to ur car as if you would a new born baby :-)

i dont see the point in posts like these because these are thing that any buyer would check out.Ok the alternator can go without any warning(mine did) but they fail on any car at anytime.As for the cambelt,every car that has one needs it changing at some point so unless you didnt bother noticing the milage then its nobody's fault.Id also say the same for the inlet manafold,its a progressive thing that tends to happen over a period of time and the symptoms are well documented on various websites.There are a few ways you can fix them without having to have it replaced...i did the number plate fix and its been fine for about 10k now

Have you thought about doint some of the fixes yourself? cambelt and alternator are easy and would save you a few hundred quid in labour

Just seems to me you brought the car withought checking its history
