    Default Replacing inner CV gaiter

I need to replace the inner CV gaiter on my 2.2 DTi, it is the right hand side, the one with the intermediate shaft. My question is, do I really need to remove the hub from the shaft? It seems it can be a bit of hassle getting the hub nut undone and then you need a new one, can I not just disconnect the hub from the strut, wishbone, track rod end and caliper, and then remove the complete hub/driveshaft so that i can do the inner gaiter? It's not that clear in the book but I can't see why not??

In theory yes you can do it how you've said but be pain the whole lol

"crack" hub nut while wheels are still on ground.

you'll be fine to reuse the nut just make sure torque it up correctly
