Arden Blue VXR - Spotted - Heathrow - thanks for the thumbs up!

Made me chuckle so thought I would share it.

Coming down the colnbrook by-pass on my way home there was a Arden Blue 08 VXR behind me (a little too close actually ).

So as the road was clear and dry, and seems reasonable conditions, as we turned right onto the heathrow bypass, I could see him nudge out and then heard him change down (had a stainless exhaust that was LOUD) and he booted it.. So I thought - OK, its safe as can be, lets play a little... Let him get to me side by side as I was accelerating but not at full chat and then once he was on my side (two lane road so safe) - I also booted it allowing full boost and taking the car to near red line in 2nd and then full chat again in 3rd...

He looked a little miffed as I pulled away to prob a car and a half's length until we were on the brakes for a roundabout, across that and I didnt hold back and have it some beans again and he slipped behind..

Anyway - got to the national speed limit ( ) and then stopped accelerating as did he to be fair and he tucked in behind me and we carried on at normal speed.

As we got to the traffic lights he went left and I straight on so he pulled side by side... He gave me a thumbs up and mouthed "**** me - your car is fast!"...

LOL - bless - was safe (ish) fun...

Prob not no.. TBH the Saab looks no where near as agressive as a VXR with its kit etc. The Aero kit on the Saab is more subtle so looks more of a fast exec type car...

I done an mondy ST220 today! It was fun.
same sort of thing I was behind him at the lights we moved off and he booted it so in semi auto I booted the siggy in scond (this was also duel carriage way) as I moved to the outside lane keeping the revs high in the range went to 3rd and passed him. Then slowed for a round about. I don't think he was well to happy as he just crawled back to normal pace after that. I thought he would have had another go!

Saw the chap again today. Not following me but same car in the petrol station we drive past.. Lol... Surely someone on here..?

It's the MY2006 9-5 Aero so 260bhp standard. Had Hirsch wizardry at Saab reading when sold new by Saab so approx 320bhp ish now is the predicted. That coupled with the insane torque, it can be an animal if needed

is it heavy on fuel,average mpg on a tank full etc cheers really fancy a saab ,but prob a 9-3 aero

It's mid to late 20's with my driving style, which is heavy right foot .. And that's a mix or sprint / stop, start driving. Motorway gets much higher.

go for the 2.3 turbo engine. B235R if you can which is the engine code for the 2.3 Aero engine. B235 is the 2.3 and the R is the HOT Aero variant.

go for the facelift if you can, nicer dash etc,
