Elite Dangerous

Anyone on here used to be a fan of the space trading game Elite?

Well, the new incarnation of the game is about to hit full development with an expected release date of March 2014.

Cant say i am the biggest game player in the world, but quite looking forward to this one being released.

Have a look on YouTube for Elite Dangerous - lots of videos from the developers showing how things are likely to pan out.

I first played it on the BBC Micro!!! Then on the C64 and then Amiga. I also had Elite 2; if this new one turns out to be as good as they say it will be then it will be a worthy successor!

Loved this game, I played it on the BBC micro and Amstrad cpc

.. I also backed it on Kickstarter because i have some great memories of the Elite series...

Wasn't Elite the one with the stupid red plastic thing with clear lenses in it that you had to fold into a box shape and hold against the telly in order to see the security code to play it?

I had it on the Amstrad too, and was absolutely addicted - until I made it to Elite

Lensloc! Jezz, seems like me you spent far too much time on your ZX Spectrum!! Cant remember if Elite used it, but certainly remember the device!

yeah I love it, playedd on my old BBC B..

Was much more fun once i discovered the bug with the mining laser purchase.. After that I was flying a fully kitted out ship with military lasers and became Elite, then went shooting up space stations just so the cops would come out and i could have a decent fight....

Wasn't there also a bug whereby you could press a key(s) in the middle of a hyperjump and you would be stuck 'in mid jump' with the hexagonal Thargoid ships that were fairly hard to destroy?
