Default who has been affected by the wind today ?

Driving the 44t wagon loaded wasn't a problem but driving it back to the yard was a nightmare ... within a 40 mile streatch of the M1 and surrounding roads 6 lorries had over turned

M1 - j27 , j23a , j22 , and j18 .... M69 closed , A14 closed between j1 and the M1 all in all a bad day .. then i got told about those poor poor chaps on that fishing trauler on the south coast .... not sure if they are safe yet but when i got told there were still 3 on board and the helicoptor couldn't get them .... and that the ship had hit a rock and was sinking !!! i really hope they get off in one piece !!

Just come in off the M4, Seen a few wagons driving along who'd decided to strap their curtains and back doors open so as to limit the effect of the wind.

Glad your back safe and sound, bet it was no fun out there today driving a mobile kite.

my car had a lucky escape at work, both properties have had 8 ft hoarding put round the perimitter due to them being knocked down soon, well the both sides just went down like matchsticks,5 inch posts just snapped in half, hoarding held up at one end by our factory wall,so kept the hoarding 6 inches off my bonnet

I was sat in my office watching three 7.5 tonners that were stood down today actually swaying around in the wind. At one point they looked like they might actually touch as they bounced on their suspension.

This morning at about 6.00 I felt the building tremble, thought our roof was on its way to Heathrow!

Speaking of which, watched in disbelief as a plane took off into the wind almost vertically!

Some people just don,t think. It is best to give you guys a wide birth at the best of times, it is daft to pull infront of a lorry, My car will stop on a sixpence, but a 44 tonner if it is behind me won,t. It takes a lot more skill to control a lorry many car drivers do not appreciate that and do not drive acordingly....

hi Phil glad to hear your back safe and sound
luckly I am not at work at the moment so I am safe and after a little incident the other night that the lad who was driving for me had,the truck is now off the road at the cost of about £1800 and thats using mostly 2nd hand parts
he had a slight collision with one of those little steel posts that you just can't see at night ( the ones that are about 3 ft high)and ripped of the front corner panel air dryer unit and lights) not to say that I have been going there for nearly a year without going near it and so has he!!

    haven't told the misses yet
but have most bits comming to sort it out

look after yourself on the roads mate

    Steve
