Default slack bonnet release handle, is it adjustable?

the bonnet release cable handle in drivers footwell is very slack, bonnet opens fine with no issues, but would rather do something about it now rather than sort it when i am forced to lol.
are these adjustable, can the cable be tightened at one end to stiffen it all back up?

Open bonnet. Stand facing engine look down by your right hand their will be a small bolt / torx screw holding cable in place. Slacken that an pull cable towards n/s of car. Should move cm or so then tighten bolt.

that should then have taken slack out.

theirs probably a how 2 on it

Yes and do it quick before it fails completely.

Pop the bonnet and you'll see the cable on the front panel with a screw clip holding it in place, loosen the clip, pull the cable back to at least the original clamp mark that will be there if not further and re-tighten it.

I tried this on my Dad's this morning as it's had a slack bonnet release handle since we got it, and it made no difference....the cable cover didnt move at all towards the n/s.

when i did mine i pulled it to much and the bonnet wouldnt stay shut , loosened it a bit and it was bang on . use pliers and it should pull about 1-2 cm and re-tighten.

Did this today after reading this thread a noticing a bit of play in my bonnet release handle! Top job and easy to do! I made little marks on the cable and panel to allow me to see at a glance if the cable moves in the future! Thanks for the tips guys!
