Bonnet Release Problems

I know there are threads on this already but this is for my Dad's Astra not a Vec and so I wasn't sure if it were the same.

He pulls the internal release and the bonnet doesn't pop - what's likely to be the problem and can I sort it for him easily?

Pretty sure its the same. If the cable is that slack detach it from the handle and pull it with a pair of pliers. Then adjust it as shown in How to.
