Default Loads of loud sounds that sound like the front springs moving when moving off!!//

Ive been noticing alot off loud sounds coming from what seems like the front springs when i moving off from stationary and i just wondered were i should look cos i cant see nothing wrong with the springs themselves??
Its like there moving around and adjusting/ flexing and ive never heard this before on any car ive owned!! Also seems worse when the car has been sitting over night
Any pointers would be most welcome guys!! as i have a m/o/t next week ( 1.9 cdti 150)
    Cheers rich

Are they standard springs? do they have the plastic spring sleeves over the bottom coil? these can perish and start twanging etc and making funny noises under load...

Funny you should mention that lee. Just had my mate (an ex VX mech) have a look at my suspension today. He noted that there were none at all on mine. It's the first i've ever heard about them but apparently they were a recall at one point. He thinks prefaces didnt have them but were recalled for it.

Yeah mine didn't have them either, popped them on when lowered it... There only a quid or 2, cant remember if i used the blue or green ones, I do need to check if the CDTI has them but its silent at min...

Although engine noise could be drowning it out

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...=spring+sleeve

On here it shows pics too, part no: 13178463

I'd get both like, just in case your springs are thicker/thinner then standard...

Top mount bearings tend to go or need re greasing, could look at them too, but you need to remove the shocks for a visual inspection...
