    Default Stiff gearchange

Im sure I've seen a thread on here before regarding this problem. Sometimes, the gears are stiff and notchy to change on my Vectra. Anyone know the reason why? As far as Im aware the clutch is ok

either the gearchange needs lubing, the cables are wearing, or the linkage is out of alignment.....

    needs a dealer trip mate....

well, the 1st thing you could try is spray grease on the linkages.. see if that will free anything off...

is it blocking any gears yet, or just V stiff??..

To be honest, its not excessively stiff. Just sometimes, maybe more when cold. I can certainly live with it, just thought someone else may have had the problem and there was a "quick fix"
I'll try lubing the cables, thanks

Hmmm I seem to remember a Vauxhall technical document around stiff gear changes when cold ... I'll have a scout around TIS if I get chance later

I think this is the one I'm thinking of:

    Field Remedy: 1653

    Models:
    Astra-G 1998 ... 2004,Zafira

    2002 2004,Signum 2003 2004
    Engines:
    AII,AII,AII,AII,AII,AII ,All
    Option:
    F23 Transmission
    Complaint:
Some customer complain about bad cold shifting behaviour in 1 st and 2nd gear. The gearshift mechanism is correctly adjusted and clutch system is bleeded.
    Cause:
Tolerances of toothing of the sliding gear.
    Production:
Introduction of transmission with modified siding gear as of transmission number Gxx03240969 in calendar week 41 /2003.
    Remedy:
In case of customer complaint the sliding gear has to be replaced by using the Repair Kit, Partno.: 9201451 / Catalogno.: 16 07 013. There is no need to replace the entire transmission.
    FunctionalGroup:
