Default Split pipe? Which one is the intercooler?

I've noticed that the car sounds like it has an air leak somewhere, like a pipe has split etc...

It starts fine and turbo etc spoils up as it should, until it reaches 2k revs under load and then the engine sound like its blowing and gets really loud! I've never noticed it before, but I also dont drive it very often. The noise isnt there at idle, just a slight shudder/wobble from the engine. No fault codes or dash lights.

So, can someone tell me which is the intercooler and the locations of the pipework I need to look at?

Is there anything you can spray into the air intake to see if it escapes anywhere?

HI chunklamb, the intercooler is the radiator look alike mounted in front of the main radiator, check the bottom edge of the intercooler as they have a habit of splitting, also check the hoses leading from the turbocharger to the intercooler (both sides)
the best way is to let someone keep a few revs on whilst you listen from under the bonnet, you should be able to feel the air bypassing if you run your hand over the hoses and intercooler,be carefull though as the engine and air is hot after it has passed through the turbo
