Default Hello guys I'm colbags & I'm looking for good honest advice?

    Hi guys

Hope your all well after a merry Xmas and I wish you all a fantastic new year!

After buying a caravan to help our family continue to have holidays after the economy fell to bits, I needed a big cheap motor to drag it about. A 53 plate Vectra was my weapon of choice and its been a good one so far (12months).
But now I'm a guy with a engine management light on, I was half way through a 300 mile run in some crap weather when I stopped for food at a services. When I came out light was on and is still on. It drives fine although it did seem to flood the next day after failing to start first time from cold.
I really need the car to get well soon with minimal fuss as I am sure I'm like all of you recoiling from santa's visit.
Can anyone offer some common reasons for EWL to come on or do I just need to get a health check done?

You'd be better off asking in the appropriate part of the forum where you'll get more visiting traffic.

This one is just for introducing yourself (clue is in the name)

    Welcome, btw.

welcome to vec-c. When you do the new thread please state what engine you have and what sort of mileage it has and when it was last serviced etc we can then try to figure it out for you.

you also need to try to read the stored fault codes to aid in diagnosis to do that for free have a read of this http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...-any-Equipment

    Welcome along.

Ok so what engine do you have?
which light do you have showing?
is it a car spanner light
is it an EML in the bottom right of your instrument cluster (Engine symbol)?
Once the above has been ascertained the rout cause of your fault can start to be diagnosed.
