Question vectra c 2.0 DTI 2004 clutch plate help!!!

hi guys its been a while!
i need some help, i fitted a new clutch kit today to the vec all went well until i went to pull it out of the garage.....
    clutch wasn't clearing!
one thing i wasn't sure about was the way round the clutch plate went? i noticed the splined part in the center of the plate stuck out further on one side than the other, i just need a clue as to which way round is right!
any help would be greatly appreciated,
    thanks ashley

sticky out bit faces outward away from engine I believe , but if you got it in wrong way just switch it round if you are dismantling again .

can't remember 100% from when I did mine but seem to think the thicker part went towards the flywheel .

usually the thicker sticky out bit faces the gearbox and there should be enough room inside the pressure plate for the thicker part. i think you have put the friction plate in the wrong way round. when you take the box back out and remove the clutch make sure the friction plate moves easily on the splines on the gearbox!!!!

thanks for your replies guys, after alot of messing around a new concentric slave cylinder and practically doing the whole job again, i found i had indeed fitted the plate the wrong way round! the thicker side actually went to the flywheel!
lesson to be learned for me there...... if in doubt ask someone else lol

like I said in earlier post but wasn't 100% , this is the reason people make mistakes , clutches have always had thick part to gearbox side & then suddenly it changes .
