    Default key fob

    hi guys and gals
    here we go just a 53 plate signum a couple of days ago and until now not had a problem
    went to get in the car when i finished work pressed the button on the fob and nothing took the fob apart and pressed again the led on the fob flashed still wouldn't unlock so had to use key in the door got home pressed the fob and it lock and unloked as normal

    any one got a clue what it could be

    hi thanks for the reply
    tha fob started working after i used the key in lock the led in fob lights up when pressed it just did'nt open the car
    i will put a new battery in and see if it happens agian

    If it doesn't work after changing the battery you are looking at a CIM or BCM or both had similar problems on mine.

    The key lost it's programming due to weak battery / bad connection. After a while the battery recovers and re-programmes when it's in the ignitiion.

    Not always mine had the exact same symptoms with all 3 of my keys all had new batteries turned out to be the BCM and CIM

    hi thanks for all the help it's now sorted i didn't know that when you take the battery out the remote it losees the setting to the car

    Hi Paul my key's are doing the same all had new batterys in and new car battery last year, some times opens first hit but other times I stand next to car pushing button for 5 mins looking like an idot walking all round car trying to open car. BCM and CIM sounds alot of money any info on price you paid cheers, Plus don't know if any differant but every time I do get into car and start up the elec windows have to be reset as they dont go up and down with out me holding down button all the way.
