tensioner pulley?

today my steering went heavy and tc & abs light came on. straight away i new the battery wasn't getting charged, the AUX belt is really loose, its still all in place and it does go round when the engine is started but loose, so im guessing its the tensioner pulley at fault. can the tensioner pulley fail, what i mean by fail is so theres no pressure in it (fluid leak) if that makes sence,

sounds like the tensioner damper is faulty,you can check it by turning the hexagon head on the tensioner anticlockwise the tensioner should rerturn to the tensioned position,if not a new unit is required.the dampers have to be stored in the upright position if not they have to be bled by compressing a few times.

thats what i think, i think its lost its pressure, its only just over a year old when i fitted the last one i compressed it a feww time but i think i compressed it to much because the black cover part leaked and had a hole in so i put some strong glue over the hole, thats why it make me wonder because of that its lost its pressure

thats your problem,they are a sealed unit that let the oil pass through a small port like a shock absorber there should not be a fluid leak externally

just brought a new on off ebay £30 should arrive Saturday, at least it shouldn't take me aslong as last time lol
