    Default MTB Forks

Right then chaps. Just upgraded the mtb to some Suntour Raidon X1 forks. They are air damped and I haven't got a clue how to set the sag. The first issue I have is what kind of pump do I need for them? Are al forks the same fitting or are there different fittings for the pump? Any enlightenment you can give me will be much appreciated.

Hi m8 tad late but only just came across this n you have prob found out by now but just incase you havent. first you need a dedicated shock pump ie 300psi (please dont take it to the garage or use a compressor lol) fox or rockshox are good ones and its a standard schrader fitting(car) i used to call them. connect up ur pump n put between 75-100psi in n put a cable tie around the bottom of the fork stantion snugly then get someone to support you n bike whilst you sit on it but do it carefull not to bounce about or force the front end down as you get a incorrect estimate n you want about 25% sag so ie if you got 100mm travel fotks you want the cable tie 25mm up the stantion then just add or release air until you get the sag you want but it all depends what riding your doing hth
