Its part of the service reminder system built into the car,s ecu , basically its telling you that the car is scheduled to have a service in 1000 miles . whether it needs it or not comes up every 30,000 miles .
they can be reset manually so that the reminder goes away if required .

Looks like it needs servicing or the service indicator was not reset the last time it was done. There is a way to clear it though but not sure of the sequence. Try this, with ignition off press and hold brake pedal fully down; then press and hold switch (for mileage reset) down on instrument panel. While holding down both of them, then turn ignition on and you should a number come up (can't recollect) but it should go after about 15-20secs. Release the brake and switch, turn ignition off and on; that should clear it for you.
When was last serviced?
Its the service counter saying it requires service in 1000 miles

Mine,s a 2.0DTi and that is 30.000 miles
