Default Stick with the 19's or drop down to 18's?

    Hi all

Our Vectra is currently on 19" snowflakes. We've had alignment problems, they don't hold pressure, they rub on full lock, the ride is harsh, but they look great.

The front tyres are due to be replaced soon but I'm wondering whether or not to drop down to 18's. For the cost of two new 19" tyres plus a refurb on all four wheels, I may aswell get a new set of 18's with tyres. I'm thinking the later vxr wheels that followed the snowflakes, sorry not sure what they're known as.

I'm sure that once we've tried the ride on 18's we'll wonder why we didn't do it earlier, and the wife is 31 weeks pregnant so the softer ride would be welcome. But I do love the 19's

I did see that but it's turning into a swap shop lol. Do the later vxr alloys have a name they are commonly known by?

I'd agree if it weren't for the fact we have a little un on the way and various problems running the 19's

i think the 18" vxr reps are a good comprimise IMO.
Depends also what the roads are like around you, 19" would be unbearable in HULL, but ok in some rural areas.

Didnt find going from 225/45/17 to 245/35/19 much difference.

Granted it was a 'bit' smoother but not enough to worry about.

Also 18's look 'normal' on a Vectra whereas 19's look loads better.

Currently running 235/35/19 which I thought was the recommended size? I've just looked through the 18" and 19" wheel pic request thread, 18's look too small on Vectra's

People fit the oversize 245 tyres to improve the ride! It means they may rub on full lock, also the speed and mileage will record lower.............. only by 1%.
