i guess if you are on a road which is not level, then it will do this as it is trying to maintain the speed you have set it at. Mine does this and on one particular road I use which is 60mph, I set my cruise control to 50mph as I know it is comfortable for the car to maintain that speed. On one particular bend it used un nerve me as it used to feel as it was accelerating too much as I was approaching the bend. I know the general opinion is to use cruise control on flat roads, as undulating roads may increase fuel consumption

Something wrong if this occurs, mine never drifts off the set speed
However, if underspeed or overspeed occurs it switches off (ie set speed +/- 5mph)

I can set mine at 30mph, go round roundabouts, corners without any issues, and so on
However, at lower speeds (50mph and below) the driver perception becomes an issue as the visual range can be reduced
Therefore look at the revs and speed to check and confirm if acceleration / deceleration is taking place

Mine doesn't switch off unless you touch the stalk or pedals.

It will turn itself off if you hold it well above the set speed for quite a while.

mine occasionally feels like its hunting, theres no increase or decrease in actual speed but the power/torque fluctuates slightly for a while then settles down again

different engine (1.8) but in mine, you can feel it accelerating/deccelerating on a hilly road but on a flat surface it is steady as a rock.

yes i know on hill etc but like dan says this is a constant pulsing, on the a50 on perfectly flat stretches it physically moves the occupants of the car look like a bunch of nodding dogs lol tried it on other roads at 35 and is much smoother but at m-way speeds it does it tried it in 5th instead of sixth to see if extra revs help but just the same
