    Default 1.8VVTi Z18XER - Spark Plugs

    I suppose the factory fitted "standard" spark plugs are rebranded Bosch, but I could be wrong here:

    Bosch FQR8LEU2 (0 242 229 699) with gap 0.9 mm

    The recommended NGK:

    NGK ZFR5F-11 (2262) with gap 1.1 mm

    and the iridium upgrade

    NGK ZFR5FIX-11 (2477)

    Does anyone have any experience with these. Heard someone mention that his engine kind of ran better on the standard NGK ones than on the iridium NGK ones.

    I just put in standard NGK plugs, car runs spot on. I can see no real benefit running iridium plugs as it is not a high performance engine.

    I have iridium plugs in mine they seem to perform very well and I believe they last far longer than conventional plugs,they were in it when I got it so I can't really compare it to anything as I've never had normal plugs in it

    Just fitted iridium one's last month, there is a slight but slightly better differance than the ngk plug's i had previous, mine's the 1.8 vvt too.
