Default The Ugly Duckling Foot Rest mini project

A fellow member here contacted me regarding the footrests I have modded in the past and if I could do the same for his one.

Got the footrest today through the post.

The footrest looked very much like a home project which needed a bit of work to get looking right. Was not the same I had bought in the past.

Here is what I did. I think it came out pretty well.

    1. Marked up where the new holes needed to be drilled.

    2. Hand drilled 4mm indents to stop slipping when I stepped up the drill bit size.

    3. Drilled new holes to 8mm to match the others.

    4. Drilled all holes to 10mm

    5. Countersunk all holes using 13mm countersunk bit.

    6. Using a detail sander sanded both sides with 80g Wood sandpaper. Great for burring up the ally to match the insignia pedals.

    7. Edge all edges with the detail sander to give it some depth.

    8. Cleaned and trial fitted in my vec.

    9. The spacing is not quite right between the holes but I could do nothing to stop that due to how it was drilled before hand.
