Not entirely sure what it is you are saying you are trying to do?

7-Zip is just a bit like Winzip or WinRar, it's just a file compression/archive tool. Are you trying to actually modify image files somehow? If that's the case, I use paint.NET and have always found it pretty decent.

Just had a quick look, I take it you are trying to install pre-made mod packs as per here, or similar?

    http://ets2-mods.com/other-mods

Shouldn't be too difficult hopefully. It sounds as if you already have the necessary mod files downloaded ie. the zipped file. If you have that, then it should just be a case of unzipping the files and putting them into the correct folder on your hard drive so that the game knows where to find them. According to the webpage I've linked to, the mod files need to go here:

"My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod" folder."

If you can locate that folder, I'd just place the zipped mod file into there (cut and paste). If you can do that, then try right mouse clicking on the actual zipped file, and hopefully you should see an option such as "Unzip Here" or Extract Here". If you do that, it should then extract all of the mod files from the zip archinve and place them into the "mod" folder. If you can get it to do that, you should hopefully be good to go.

Tried it ended up with alot of language small folder ect in the ets mod folder. Cleared all that out and download history will start again later.

The downloaded folders didn't have the small folder symbol they were disk shape same as zip7, this might of been messing it up so deleted zip 7 too

Hmm... So you can locate the "Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod" folder on your hard drive ok, and have successfully unzipped one of the downloaded files into that area? Are the unzipped files showing as having .scs file extensions as the website suggested they would? Is the mod folder named exactly as shown, in lowercase letters?

I see they also have some archive extractor thing of there own, perhaps it handles the extraction of the .scs mod files differently:

    http://www.eurotrucksimulator2.com/mod_tools.php

I also see they have a free demo available of the whole game. I'm off out for the day, but I'll download that later and see if I can manage to get any mods to work on that.

Ah, that's good mate, nice one.

I'd got as far as installing the game this morning before I had to head out. Had a quick blast, and needless to say I won't be giving up the day job! Grimsby is missing about 90% of its street furniture, and I racked up about 5 violations in the 2 miles or so I drove, lol!
